9/27/2008 - The pictures above about sums up how this year has gone for me. I got a second motor, and grenaded that one the first race out with it. After that, I set the race car aside for a while as I was getting married and had a lot going on. I finally got around to pulling the motor, and its currently being rebuilt. The open show for TSS has rained out this weekend and will now be run October 25th & 26th. Canaan has an open show the following week, if I have the motor done by then I fully intend on racing both events. I'm still not 100% sure what the 2009 season holds for me, but the plan right now is to at least run a partial schedule as time and money allows. 4/21/2008 - Update on the team schedule - due to monetary concerns and recent motor trouble, we will be sitting out the majority of the first half of the season. The plan is to run the full second half (starting June 27th), and maybe one or two races prior to that date. 4/18/2008 - Well it was great to be out on the track again. The first session was basically just time for me to get used to racing again, and get into a grove. Unfortunately early on I made contact with another driver, but it was just a slight scrape in the door - no real harm done. During the second session, I started to experience some motor issues. It didn't seem anything real significant, just some stuttering and stumbling. We found that one of the spark plugs had the gap completely closed up. We thought I may have bumped it on something as I installed it; I didn't think so, but I hoped thats what had happened. The next session, after a few laps I started to have similar issues, but it sounded a bit more expensive. I came in right away, and we'd found that same spark plug not only had the gap completely closed up, but the porcelain was broken off the end of it as well. I'm currently searching for a new engine to finish the year out with. Once we find one, I intend on running one or two races just to make sure its up to par and "shake it down", then I will sit out until June 27th unless some sort of additional financing comes my way. |
